Why is it important to report a pet scam?

Unfortunately, you are not alone. Scammers set up sophisticated networks to scam people by offering pets for sale or adoption. Even though it might seem like a small criminal operation, scammers can set up multiple websites in order to scam their victims.

The scammer that was trying to sell you a Yorkshire terrier is also advertising Pugs, horses, parrots and anything else they can think of. By reporting this scam you can help build a bigger picture and expose the extent of this scam.

It is important to note that Petscams.com is not a law enforcement agency. All information we collect is freely made available to Law enforcement but this is the extent of what we can do. We do however have a lot of success in exposing these scammers websites as scams. We regularly receive thanks from people who intended on buying a pet only to realise that it was a scam after seeing our website. Petscams.com have success in shutting down scammers websites however we are not an alternative to reporting to law enforcement.
