The address will have no connection to the actual scam as they will be an innocent third party Individuals who are looking to buy a sphynx kitten online are being targeted by scammers. These criminals have created a website called Legendarysphynx.com in order to look legitimate. They post adverts on community websites advertising kittens. After you contact the scammers about the kitten, the scammers state that the kitten needs to be transferred to their area and that requires an upfront payment. The prefered payment system is Moneygram, Western Union or Walmart to Walmart but they will accept any form of payment including bitcoin, iTunes vounchers or bank transfer. Do not think that you can trace them if they use bank transfer as they will often use a “mule” who is not aware they are part of a scam. The down payment is then sent via wire transfer. The scammers then ignore your calls and emails or will contact you and tell you that something else has come up and they need further payment for the delivery of the kitten. These criminals are happy for you to give them your Credit Card details which they will later use to empty your account. Of course once you have given them your credit card details they will demand that you pay by wire transfer! Legendarysphynx.com will claim to deliver the kitten using a Scam Delivery company which is actually another scam website they set up in order to steal your money by charging for non existent delivery, a air conditioned travel crate, medical insurance for your kitten as well as multiple other fees. Legendary sphynx sounds legitimate but it clearly is not. The owners of the website will claim they are worried about finding an owner that is a best fit for their cat Shira but the cat does not exist. I requested new photos of the cat in question and they only showed photos from their website. Buyer beware. I’m glad I checked this place out first.
Theyre back at it, a sphynx has been my dream cat since a young age and even more due to the recent passing of my 18yr old cat ive grown up with. Im only 17 and contacted these people in hopes to maybe set up a payment plan so i could get a cat for my birthday. They sounded nice and considerate sending texts and an email questioning the enviroment the cat would be welcomed into. They said i could buy the cat for $200 as my birthday present. I only had $150 on hand and they told me to transfer through walmart but once i said i was at walmart they asked for an amazon card. I am very let down about the fact i will not be getting my dream pet for my 18th birthday. They asked to see a pic of the amazon card and recipt of it. So i sent them screenshots of these reports on them and said they are selfish money hungry human beings. These people need to be stopped they contacted me through the number (619)-631-4392
Yes, they are still in “business”. I am glad that I checked here and even happier that my husband decided that he did not want to get a cat right now. I contacted them through their website LS and as the saying goes “If it sounds too good… Needless to say that sent me a return email with questions to make sure that “Shira” would go to a good home. The questions seemed legit and they were so pleased with my answers. They asked if they could contact me by phone and sent me a text message. When the time came for me to ask them questions of my own; they only answered one of them and that is the one regarding transporting the kitten since they live in (according to them) OK and I live in MD. The person that texted me never gave a name but the phone number was 436-602-2527. They had the same spill about free travel vouchers and the kittens riding with the passengers and not in the cargo section. Luckily I did not give them any money! Buyer beware!
Yes they are still active selling online with a very nice website.
[email protected]. Was the email address they contacted me.
724-381-4533 was the phone number.
A person texted me kind of pushing or forcing the sale.
Yep they are still selling the same 8 week old kittens! 213-632-4985 was the number they texted me from. I didn’t send money as I was a little unsure they were legit because of the price. They told me they had vouchers for free shipping! I hope they get caught!!!
They are still active
[email protected]. Damn glad I didn’t waste any money!
724-381-4533 was the phone number and they said their name was roses.
They’re back, and at it again. I’m so glad I checked before putting a deposit on Wesley or Velma. They’re still at the same website. When searching for California Sphynx breeders their page came up, yet when I finally heard back from someone (unidentified person texting) they mentioned shipping their 8 week old kittens from Ashburn, VA. They were using phone number 530-641-8605.
Jasmine V – they’ve still got a “Cindy” available. 🙁
It is absolutely disgusting scammers can be. I’m so happy i only put down a $460 deposit claiming i don’t get paid till this friday. My HARD working money. The sphynx kitten i was planning to buy was Cindy via legendarysphynx.com. The man whom i spoke with claimed his name was Alex Parker. He gave me an address to enter in westernunion which was “California, Weaverville, 96093”. Given the complications with westernunion he was frustrated and gave me the address “47 Landecena Dr” . I insisted on using paypal. He gave me his cousins email “mailto:[email protected] … only under family and friends”. Then he insisted on having the money sent to two different emails the other one was “mailto:[email protected]” . I was beyond sketched out and told him i wasn’t comfortable with that. He sent me SEVEN long paragraphs claiming him and his wife have been scammed before and that they would never wish that upon anyone due to have messed up it would be. Distrusting & disgusting people. If i didn’t find this website i would’ve showed up empty handed on christmas. I hope no one else gets scammed by these people and find this website as well. Thank you.
It appears Legendarysphynx.com was shut down last night. It is gone. At least for now….
The name I was given by the man I communicated with from LegendarySphynx.com was Richard Che in California. His phone number is 724-381-4533. Once I realized it was a scam and he had my wire transferred money, I googled the number. It is also tied to a now defunct website called legacysiamese.com. The e-mail address they used was [email protected]. The city and zip he gave for the wire transfer was Lewiston, CA 96052. However, Western Union confirmed the money was picked up in San Jose, CA.
