These criminals have created a website called Lovelybalinesekittens.com in order to look legitimate. They post adverts on community websites advertising kittens. After you contact the scammers about the kitten, the scammers state that the kitten needs to be transferred to their area and that requires an upfront payment. The prefered payment system is Moneygram, Western Union or Walmart to Walmart but they will accept any form of payment including bitcoin, iTunes vounchers or bank transfer. Do not think that you can trace them if they use bank transfer as they will often use a “mule” who is not aware they are part of a scam.The down payment is then sent via wire transfer. The scammers then ignore your calls and emails or will contact you and tell you that something else has come up and they need further payment for the delivery of the kitten. These criminals are happy for you to give them your Credit Card details which they will later use to empty your account. Of course once you have given them your credit card details they will demand that you pay by wire transfer! Lovelybalinesekittens.com will claim to deliver the kitten using a Fraudulent Delivery company which is actually another scam website they set up in order to steal your money by charging for non existent delivery, a air conditioned travel crate, medical insurance for your kitten as well as multiple other fees. Hello, LBK dot com may have rebranded as “StrikingBalineseKittens dot com” in Detroit, Michigan. I have been in correspondence with “rosemarie” about a 50% off deal on a kitten that seems to good to be true, plus they seem awfully eager to get personal and payment information. I can give you more info via email that I don’t want to post here without first confirming their legitimacy.

Scammed July 2022. Inquired about a kitten and impulsively sent in a deposit of $200. Pretty much immediately after that (instead of before, duh!) I went checking the web if scammers and found this page. Then, I used another email account and inquired about the same kitten and they said he was available and did I want to put a deposit on him. Both times I said I would drive to pick up. An hour before the arranged pick up to an address in SF, California, they texted saying they needed $150 to process his papers.
Pretty much the same deal as others have said, they ask for more money for some reason. This is our world today sadly, lesson learned. Reported the scam to this site. I’m getting a kitty from the shelter cause I’m in a bit of a hurry after rescuing a kitten creekside and want a playmate for him. I can erase my bad with another good rescue : )
I wish I came across this article earlier. We were scammed–thankfully, not for the full amount, but did lose a substantial deposit through Zelle. When we didn’t receive any confirmation in writing or a contract after the deposit, we started doing a search.

Yes same experience. I came to the conclusion on my own they were scammers as there were a lot of red flags, but it was great to see this article, which described their tactics very accurately.
