I was almost a victim. I corresponded with this thief for 24 hours, had gone shopping for my new puppy that would be here in less than 24 hours and was so excited to pick her up from the airport. From the beginning, I couldn’t understand how all these beautiful golden doodles were still available at 12 weeks of life. These are puppies that normally have a waiting list and as soon as they can leave their mother, they are gone. I convinced myself that these breeders must train them better than most before letting them go. They were cheaper than most. Usually these are over one thousand dollars but these were $800 with free shipping. I was skeptical but when I received my email from the pet courier company with the arrangements made for delivery , it appeared to be legitimate. I was nervous about sending $800 so we had an arrangement to pay $500 now and the remainder when I received my puppy. The seller wanted to use zelle and another money transfer ap. I wasn’t familar with them, I researched and they seemed reputable so I downloaded the applications and proceeded to send my $500. For some reason the transfer was constantly getting denied. I assumed it was because this was a new thing, my bank was being cautious. The alleged seller kept giving me different accounts to try and fortunately it was not successful. I was adamant to get my puppy so we tried 3 different applications with multiple accounts. The funds would get moved and then rejected and kept coming back to me. I should have stopped trying a long time before I did. The final straw for me was when the alleged seller told me to go to Walmart and purchase two 250 dollar gift cards, Scratch off the codes and send pictures with the receipts. That didn’t seem like something a reputable breeder would do! I told the person I was going to pass and he/ she kept begging me to try again. These puppies sell themselves, the alleged seller was very persistent, if I didn’t respond to messages I would get messages like ” are you there?”, ” hello?” , “????”, “where’d you go?”, ” other people are interested in these puppies too”. I am grateful that the money transfer system didn’t work or I know I would be out $500 with no hopes of a puppy coming to me. I have saved all correspondence, emails and photos. Please protect yourselves and don’t fall for this like I did!
