They will lie, they will tell you sob stories, they will send you pictures of puppys which they have found online, they will assure you of their faith and religion – anything to get your money! These scammers offer huge discounts that no actual bordercollie puppy breeder would ever offer. If you see an offer that is too good to be true, it probably is. After you have paid the (hugely discounted) initial fee for the puppy you will be introduced to the “shipping company”. The shipping company is simply another website created by the scammer to charge you even more fees for everything from delivery, an air conditioned travel crate, medical insurance for your puppy and even ask you to pay for premium pet food for your puppy! These people texted me at 12:02am
“Hello Jill,
I am Austin Carter owner of Avery the Border Collie pup. Avery is still available, how soon do you want him?”
We chatted briefly and then I started to google about this site to mark sure it was legitimate.
I found this page and realized it was a scam so chose to not respond any further.
They then tried to call me (no voicemail) and then texted me again saying
“Hello Jim”
…???
I again, did not respond.
The next day they tried to call me again, and again no voicemail. Then texted me again saying, “Hello Jim”
I told them that was the wrong name (if they scrolled up they could see that they called me Jill?)
Anyway, I called them out for being a scam and haven’t heard anything sense.
