The address will have no connection to the actual scam as they will be an innocent third party Individuals who are looking to buy a dachshund puppy online are being targeted by scammers. These criminals have created a website called Rockydachshundshome.com in order to look legitimate. They post adverts on community websites advertising puppys. After you contact the scammers about the puppy, the scammers state that the puppy needs to be transferred to their area and that requires an upfront payment. The prefered payment system is Moneygram, Western Union or Walmart to Walmart but they will accept any form of payment including bitcoin, iTunes vounchers or bank transfer. Do not think that you can trace them if they use bank transfer as they will often use a “mule” who is not aware they are part of a scam. The down payment is then sent via wire transfer. The scammers then ignore your calls and emails or will contact you and tell you that something else has come up and they need further payment for the delivery of the puppy. These criminals are happy for you to give them your Credit Card details which they will later use to empty your account. Of course once you have given them your credit card details they will demand that you pay by wire transfer! Rockydachshundshome.com will claim to deliver the puppy using a Scam Delivery company which is actually another scam website they set up in order to steal your money by charging for non existent delivery, a air conditioned travel crate, medical insurance for your puppy as well as multiple other fees. Click to view WebsiteIf you have any further information please post it in the comments section below. We are particularly interested in names, email address and phone numbers used by these scammers.
They are onto a new name. Eric Bevis. They are asking $700.00 for a puppy. This includes getting the puppy to you by plane.
They are using the phone number 1(706) 530-2914.
Please please please, look up local rescues for any breed of dog you want. Go to the site in person, see the male and female. The place should be clean, the animals well cared for. Ask for the Vet they use, and call the Vet and ask if these are good people to buy from. The only way to stop this nonsense, is to stop giving these crooks your money.
They don’t even have to worry about changing their phone number!
Fell for it and now out $500.00…I wish I would’ve done one more hour of research and I would not have gotten scammed. Live and Learn…
Philips Bavis was the name…706-530-2914 was the phone number, which he did answer when I called him. Also said he had a son , Cristopher Bavis who handled all of the payment info, which is who the Zelle payment went too (Marv Cris was the Zelle username and the email is noted below.
Email’s were [email protected] and [email protected] (Again…should have known that a legitimate business most likely would have had their website domain as the email address, not a gmail or yahoo address).
Mailing address noted on the contract was 1102 Central Ave., Columbus, GA 34001…Looked it up on Google Maps and it pings the middle of a wooded park area, and the zip code, 34001, is not even the zip code for Columbus, GA.
Hope this helps someone else from falling for this scam.
They texted me from 1-706-530-2914 and emailed me from [email protected]. They sent 6 pictures and 3 videos of the puppy I inquired about. They asked all the right questions and seemed real. They told me $700 for the puppy which included shipping. When they asked me to send money I asked them to FaceTime with me in person so that I could meet them and see the puppy. They ignored my request for FaceTime and kept telling me I had to send them the money first. I fingered this was a scam at that point and stoped communicating with them.
This is the claim I filled out with:
Consumer Report To The FTC
I contacted this company to purchase a miniature Dachshund puppy. Photos were provided, a contract was provided which I signed and sent back, money was sent through Zelle for the puppy and the delivery date was set. I received an email from a transport company early morning on the delivery date requesting more money for a special crate to transport the puppy. I then began looking into pet fraud which I found to be true in this case. I have photos of all transactions and emails etc…

Rockydachshundshome.com contacted me through text (+1 (802) 552-0839) and also by email at . They required cash in the form of a transfer from some cash service (Paypal, Zelle, Bank transfer, etc.). Once they confirmed receipt of the $$, they set a delivery time, etc., but the transaction was not ever completed. The correspondent who claimed to be a breeder asked the right questions but it was all a setup. This was to be a Christmas gift to my terminally ill wife, so it was a very difficult experience and a double loss.
