bought a puppy For $700 on December 14, 2020 from a man who said his name was Dontaye Bennette (252-293-6184). He sent more cute pictures. The puppy was to be shipped to me in Syracuse, NY on Dec 29th. On that date I was informed of her arrival time but that I needed to pay $900 in shipping insurance, 95% of which was refundable. I used ZELLE through my bank to transfer money after being assured by the bank that it was all refundable if it was a scam. (I did get all the money back.) The Zelle contact person changed email addresses so my first transfer supposedly didn’t go through and they had me send another $900 for insurance. That address was to Semaj Daniels at semajd284@gmail.com. Later in the day I was informed that I need to spend $450 for a climate controlled crate, “refundable”. By the time I haggled with the carrier who was Global Relocators, the puppy missed the flight. The next day I was Informed that the puppy was shipped to my state of New Hampshire. (A man named Rashad Walker but NH instead of NY, but they said it was MY mistake.) But I live in New York. They wanted $450 to transport the puppy from New Hampshire to New York. Next day, they could only find flights to Indiana or Illinois so urged me to drive to NH to get the dog. I refused, and the next day they said I needed to pay $390 for their added days of caring for the puppy. End of story, I told them I didn’t want the dog and I was reporting them as a scam. I texted with “Michael” at Global Relocators (based in NC but also in TX). The number was 830-488-7213. He was almost non-English speaking, very hard to understand and to deal with. All these men seemed to be middle Eastern and had very poor English writing and speaking skills.

Stay away from the “breeder”. I doubt there was even a puppy involved.

Always insist on a name and employee ID number. Tell the scammer that you want to verify their employment with the corporate Human Resources dept at whichever agency they claim to be with. Most times they won’t give you a name or employee number. They will tell you that it’s “private information”. Any legitimate shipping company employee would give out this info. Also insist on a current picture of the puppy with a newspaper or something with today’s date on it. Most scammers won’t be able to provide such a photo. The scammers email is almost always laden with grammatical errors and a language deficiency. Hope this helps.
