I recently lost a basset hound, and wanted to get the ball rolling with adoptions. These people reached out very quickly with photos and videos. I told them I needed time to think, and they turned quite pushy.

I decided I would pay a deposit, and it was only because the scammers gave me the wrong banking name with the phone number that I was given the opportunity to reverse the charge and do some research. That I realized I dodged a huge bullet aimed for my wallet.

Breeders are never pushy, so if you find yourself inquiring or wanting to get a dog through a reputable breeder, wait. Just tell them you need the day, or the weekend, etc. scammers are by nature too impatient to let anyone think, ask questions, or do research.

They claimed they are in Atlanta Georgia but called from a Philadelphia number. The email they sent was odd and some poor English. Also they claim they are only allowing online purchases and delivery but it’s clear they are using the pandemic to avoid physically being caught in their scam. They wouldn’t share additional pictures and everything was obvious to being fraudulent.
