I was scammed out of $200 by a man on Facebook under “Ragdoll kittens for adoption and rehoming”posing as “Nicolas Bernard” yesterday while looking for a Ragdoll kitten; in fact he messaged me twice today. Went through PayPal ( he first wanted me to use Apple Pay) to pay the $200 down. He told me to use the “friends and family” option so it would go through quicker. I noticed the warning given when using that option, and mentioned it to him. Of course he told me not to worry about it and I sent it. It actually went to a Vu Truong Khang, when asked about the different name he claimed “it was his son’s account”. When just about ready to leave to pick up the kitten; (address given was 517 1st Ave S. E. Stewartville, Mn); he texted me with a “complication” and a long list of vaccines; one being PARVOVIRUS which I didn’t think cats could get; saying he now had to pay the vet;(who showed up from North Carolina on a Sunday); $200 dollars for the vaccinations that were just administered! Again he wanted me to “Stop at the closest Walmart and get a $200 Apple Pay gift card OK”; he REALLY used that a lot; “OK”. When I asked for a screenshot of the bill he sent me a screenshot of the supposed ownership transfer. It was from a Fish and Husbandry some place that couldn’t be verified! Then he told me “that was what the vet said”. I told him no screenshot, no more money! He then sent this long note about how he understood that now I think it’s a scam, but it’s not and they have children and wouldn’t risk the “Family Reputation” blah blah blah. This morning he wanted to know if he could “do the delivery today”. Then at about 0930 he sends me this HUGE text; (complete with photo!); about how he can’t meet up with me because his SON is in CRITICAL CONDITION at the hospital! BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE!
