Same deal. Naively sent the money via Zelle without any investigation into the sight and now I’m out nearly a thousand bucks. I’m not sure how to proceed from here.

How convenient because the app they use only allows up to $1000 a day. They want you to use Zelle for the transfer. Do not do it. There is no cancellation of payment after sent. Your bank will not be able to help. They will most likely give you fake address and phone number. I was told they were in Oklahoma even gave me an Oklahoma number which no one answered. I have the FBI opening an investigation into them hopefully they will be brought to justice.
