My partner brought two macaw eggs from birdsforsale.com for $200 which is also part of the scam the sale went through they said they will post eggs in secure packaging which will protect the eggs while being flown to us in Adelaide they gave us the shipping tracking and company name which was Spring couriers express the next day my partner got a call from shipping company Spring couriers express stating the eggs need to be shipped in a travel incubator to keep the eggs safe and it was going to cost $1500 as an insurance for the eggs to be safe, and when they arrive the $1500 would be refunded on the return of the incubator but we refused as we didn’t have the $1500 so we asked for a refund of the eggs
My partner contacted birds for sale person and asked for a refund they said leave it with them and they call the courier company after sometime my partner got a call back and they said the courier company would give a 50% reduction on the incubator insurance/rental, and that money would be returned to us when the incubator was returned so my partner paid the $750 and they said the eggs would be delivered the next day
The next morning my partner got message stating she has to have a breading license and that would cost an additional $1000 for a permit we straight away said no we want a refund and from then on they wouldn’t answer any of our phone calls etc so we now are putting in a dispute with our bank to get the money back hopefully this will work but I just wanted to let others know don’t buy off birds for sale or use Spring couriers express as both companies are scammers
