The address will have no connection to the actual scam as they will be an innocent third party The trouble with a purchase like a puppy is that the internet is the most common place to look. No-one wants to support cruel breeding farms, and most legitimate breeders have websites and also advertise online. Criminals take advantage of this by creating their own websites and paying for advertising using stolen credit cards. These scammers have multiple websites which sell other puppys besides bernese mountain dogs. They normally go for the most popular breeds as they can find the most victims. If you enquire about one of their puppys they will offer you huge discounts. They will even throw in the best puppy food for your new puppy! Bernesemountainhomes.com will claim to deliver the puppy using a Fake Delivery company which is actually another scam website they set up in order to steal your money by charging for non existent delivery, veternary bills, medical insurance for your puppy as well as multiple other fees. When they say, it’s too good to be true, they’re right. After searching the multitude of Bernese mountain dog websites, I realized they are very expensive. So, when my husb. found a site w/ a puppy about a third of the price, it was too good to be true. Bernese mountain homes answered my inquiry quickly & asked many of the questions a reputable breeder would ask but things just didn’t add up. I received a text w/ add’l photos but the area code was in Montreal even though they said they were in Lawrenceville, GA. Things were misspelled like they didn’t speak English, the sentence structure was off. My step- daughter found this petscams website & sadly, I recognized several sites I visited. I’m really glad my step-daughter found this before we sent the $900 via Zelle. My husb. was so excited at the thought of us having our new puppy in a matter of days! Now, I’m just mad. How dare people take advantage of trusting people! I hate having to be cautious. I don’t like having to be suspicious! But if I wasn’t, someone would be having a good time tonight on our hard earned $900 while we sit by our window, waiting for a puppy that will never come!!
HERE IS MY STORY
TRYING TO BUY A PUPPIE FOR MY DOUGHTER I FOUNDED A WEB PAGE https://bernesemountainhomes.com/contact.html , THEN I MADE CONTACT WITH THE SELLER VIA EMAIL [email protected]. HE SEND ME INFORMATION ABOUT THE PUPPIE AND SEND ME THE PAYMENT METHOD VIA ZELLE. BECAUSE I DONT HAVE A ZELLE ACCOUNT I ASK TO A FRIEND TO MAKE THE PAYMENT, HE SEND TO THE SELLER A PARTIAL PAYMENT OF $500 US DOLLARS (TOTAL WAS $900). THEN THE SELLER TOLD ME THAT HIS ZELLE ACCOUNT IS NOT LONGER WORKING AND ASK ME TO USE ANOTHER ZELLER ACCOUNT TO PAY THE REST OF $400.
I ASK THE SELLER TO GIVE ME BACK THE MONEY AND HE IS NOT RESPONDING.
