The trouble with a purchase like a puppy is that the internet is the most common place to look.
No-one wants to support cruel breeding farms, and most legitimate breeders have websites and also advertise online.
Criminals take advantage of this by creating their own websites and paying for advertising using stolen credit cards.

These scammers have multiple websites which sell other puppys besides bernese mountain dogs. They normally go for the most popular breeds as they can find the most victims.

If you enquire about one of their puppys they will offer you huge discounts. They will even throw in the best puppy food for your new puppy! will claim to deliver the puppy using a Fake Delivery company which is actually another scam website they set up in order to steal your money by charging for non existent delivery, veternary bills, medical insurance for your puppy as well as multiple other fees.

  1. Definitely stay away from this website!! Complete scam. I live in El Paso, and when I asked via text and email to meet the “owner” in a neutral place to get aquatinted with one of the pups supposedly available, they balked. This “James Ruxten” character is shady. When you look up the address and satellite map the house they, it looks in very poor shape to be breeding and/or fostering these pups or any animal for that matter. Their web page is still up and operating, so DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PURCHASE FROM THIS FRAUD!!

    Here is the contact info:
    James Ruxten
4905 Winthrop Dr, El Paso TX 79924
    (915) 765-6397
    [email protected]

  2. Is Greenfield Puppies a scam? I’m about to by one from there, I want to make sure it’s not before I use my money on it. The prices seem reasonable, but I want to see if it’s safe or not before I waste my money.

    • Received an email from [email protected] with 5 attachments with pics of the puppy I was interested in. Then I received a text from tel:915-320-5401 saying they were the owner of bernese mountain puppies and said the pup I was interested in was still available and I needed to send $250 as a deposit (they said they accept Zelle & googlepay). The ‘Owner’ called me and had a thick accent, I couldn’t understand him. I wanted to look the company up to verify them before I sent any money, so I texted them and asked for their address and he responded with: 4905 Winthrop Dr, El Paso, TX 79924. When I looked up the phone number it took me to and I noticed JR’s comment from 12/23/2020. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SCAM…DON’T SEND ANY MONEY.

  3. PUREBREDBERNESE.COM AND BERNESAREARENA………Both websites are involved and not only did they steal my money they continued to communicate with me about the puppy for 5 days. During those 5 days My family and I were falling in love with this puppy named ” Jake”, finding a trainer for him, toys, bed, ect…I also want to let you know that they have another website, and bernesearena. They have the exact same puppies under different names and genders. I tried to contact thinking that they were a legit company being scammed by purebredbernese but unfortunately they are also involved. Shortly after I complained to the FBI scam site both phone numbers were out of service. I am mainly posting this to prevent this from happening to another family. Its cruel and they lead you on for days. That was the hardest part for me. If your going to scam me just do it, don’t keep my hopes up. They are using the Greenbay and Madison Wisconsin zip codes. The name used was Samson Bowie and they have you sign a contract and for me they seemed legit. Definitely have to be very careful buying a puppy online. These scams are all over the place for the holidays especially.

  4. We were just scammed actually went to the airport to retrieve our puppy … that’s how we found out we were scammed…. $950

They now go by Sterling Bernese

They wanted us to pay them a quarantine fee 4 days at $400 a day….,

    • They say the address is 4905 Winthrop Dr, El Paso, Tx, googled that, the real estate pics show a 100% dirt-back-yard, yet all of James Ruxten’s background shots of puppies have lush, green grass!

  5. I’m glad I looked this up before I sent the payment. Something didn’t feel right about the whole situation. They seem legit but they ask to many questions.

  6. This is an email I got from them. Bad English.
