I ordered a shih tzu from a breeder in Maine. Supposedly they shipped my dog last night after I paid $1100 for an air conditioned crate. They stopped in St. Louis & discovered she needed life insurance before she can proceed for another $950 (fully refundable). Now they are telling me I will be charged with dog abandonment if I don’t pay.
My son paid for a puppy from
KARIM’S ROTTWEILERS HOME
on 23FEB2020. I wish he would have researched more before sending the money…
After wiring money through Western Union and signing a “Transfer of Ownership” certificate, he received and email from Maestro Pets Movers stating that, due to weather conditions in states the pet would be traveling through, an air conditioned pet carrier was required to proceed. The pet carrier could be purchased for approximately $1000 or rented for approximately $1000, with 95% of rental fee refunded upon delivery of the puppy (in cash). They do not accept credit/debit cards or any other form of payment other than Western Union. My son was truly concerned about the puppy and tried to work with the people (Karim and Pet Maestro – btw, both people sounded exactly alike) but most conversations resulted in them saying “Send money” or shaming my son for “deserting a puppy”. We offered to sign ownership back over to Karim and travel to NC for receipt of the puppy (paying boarding fees upon arrival) but he just claimed that the puppy was stranded and he could do nothing. We also tried to arrange retrieval of the puppy from Pet Maestro (by traveling to NC) and paying boarding fees upon receipt of the puppy, but they said the flight was already booked and they couldn’t release the puppy because of the paperwork (yet another red flag). Official guidelines for pet airline travel do not include an air conditioned pet carrier, they don’t allow batteries or electronics in the cargo area, so how does an air conditioned pet carrier make sense? Not to mention that rental of the pet carrier is more than renting a car! He is reporting this incident to the fraud division of our local law enforcement officials, I’m sure he will never see the money he’s invested or a puppy. Karim has resorted to “FU” as a reply when sent reasonable correspondence, ridiculous!
