I was scammed today after paying 700.00 for a puppy and shipping via Zelle. Once I paid the breeder, Richard Pug Home, I was then contacted by the shipping company, “County Live Pet Courier” indicating I needed to pay for or rent an air controlled crate for 980.00. If rented, I was told I would get 90% refunded after delivery. They wanted payment via Zelle. When I said no, all correspondence stopped. I reached out to the breeder who has not returned the 700.00 as requested. The shipping company and breeder looked legit on their website. Of course I have reported it to my bank. I am embarrassed and so disappointed. Hard lesson learned!
Wish I would have checked with PetScams. Com before Pet rescue, NC took me for $$$. Would have got me for more with the Skye X delivery “electronic thermal crate” scam. After initial loss I happened upon Petscam. com and it saved me from being scammed even more. Hard lesson learned!
